Absolutely perfect

One of my favorite children's books would have to be Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes.
While Ed was feeding Camryn a few nights ago, I was reading her this story. The mother and father feel their daughter is absolutely perfect. I pray that in a world when girls don't always have self-confidence that she realizes that God made her just as he intended and that she is indeed, absolutely perfect.

Here is a little proof:
Uncle Robert holding Camryn for the first time.

Aren't I adorable?

Auntie Shelby holding our doll baby.

Check out my headband!

I should also mention, we are blessed to have generous friends. The outfits in these images were given to Camryn. Thank you DeBords and Scotts!

Growing pains

Enough with the flash!!

Check out my hair.

Sorry about the layout...but these are too cute!!

As parents we are allowed to share pictures that may cause humiliation.
We'll just tell her it was the growing pains that caused the faces we captured. ;)

Staying in touch

We are blessed to have the family and friends we have. In the same breath, we aren't very good about communicating with these people whom we love. This blog is a way for us to share pictures and details of our day to day lives. It is our hope to post frequently... let's see how well we can do!!

Since last month, our lives have turned upside down. As most of you know, Camryn Kay Martin was born at 4:26p on Friday, Oct. 8th. She was 8lbs 2 oz and 21.5 inches long. Diapers and feedings seem to have taken over. Instead of doing what we want when we want, we do what Camryn needs and try to sneak in the "me" time during times of slumber for our little one. We wouldn't trade these changes in for all of the universe.

This week Camryn visited the doctor's office for her one month check-up.
She weighed 8lbs 14 oz and measured 23.25 inches long. If you're wondering...that's the 45th percentile for weight and 95th percentile for length. She's taking after her daddy. ;)

Here are a few pictures of the newest Martin family member:

Time with daddy at the hospital.

Just hours old, after her first bath. Looks like Mommy here.

Small glimpse of the future smile she will have. :)

Beginning to look more like Daddy. =]
